- Avoid direct sun exposure
- Skip outdoor sightseeing during the hottest hours between 11 AM and 5 PM
- Use public drinking fountains to cool down
Practical Tips for Tourists
Rome offers over 2,500 drinking fountains where you can refill your water bottle for free. One of the most charming is the Lovers’ Fountain near the Trevi Fountain.
During heatwaves, it’s worth visiting museums and churches during midday hours and saving outdoor walks for early morning or evening.
