A security control is located at the entrance to the Basilica. The site of the Basilica as well as the adjacent branch of the children’s Hospital Bambino Gesù belong to the territory of the Vatican City State.
The Basilica is open year-round 7 am – 6:30 pm, admission is free.
The cloister is open from 9 am to 6 pm, admission costs 4 euros.
In the complex of the Basilica, you’ll find a souvenir shop, a bar, sanitary facilities and a letter-box of the Vatican Post.
All areas of the Basilica are accessible for wheelchair users.

After the security check, you will find an information office of Vox Mundi, which offers audio guide right at the entrance of the Basilica. It is open from Monday to Friday 10 am – 5 pm, Saturday 10 am – 3 pm. It is closed on Sunday.
Restrooms are located on the left side in the Basilica.

Metro line A station San Giovanni, tram line 3 (station Trastevere – pyramid – Coliseum – St. John – Basilica Holy Cross in Jerusalem, Basilica of St. Lawrence, Zoo) bus 81 (direction Risorgimento to Celio, Colosseum, Bocca della Verità, Piazza Venezia, Piazza Navona, Saint Peter’s Basilica), bus 218 (to the catacombs and sanctuary Divino Amore), bus 714 (towards Termini station to Santa Maria Maggiore), bus 792 (to St. Paul).
