A good packing list is especially important if you want to travel with hand baggage only.
Since it is already quite warm in Rome in May and June, a light jacket is enough for the evening. In June it can be very hot or rainy as well. For your visits to churches and catacombs, you must always make sure that your clothing covers the shoulders and knees. You need comfortable shoes.
Especially if you plan to visit a Pope’s Mass or a Pope’s Audience, you should have a light rain cover on hand.
For swimming in the sea, it is still quite cold in June, but you can sunbathe in Ostia or take walks on the beach.
Of course, you must not forget your medication in the packing list, as you can only buy certain pharmaceuticals in Italy on presentation of a prescription. In addition, you should pack a mosquito repellent and a tea tree oil for the treatment of possible mosquito bites. As a protection against the sun a sunscreen and an umbrella will help you.
In addition, you should bring the charger of your electronic devices as well as toothbrush, hairbrush or comb, toothpaste and cosmetics within the usual safety regulations for air travel.
